The 8th September 2015 saw a massive response to World Physical Therapy Day. Around the world physical therapists promoted this year's "Fulfilling potential" message. WCPT signs up with HIFA

WCPT has signed up as a supporting organisation of the global campaign Healthcare Information for All (HIFA)

HIFA is a network of more than 15,000 people committed to improving the availability and use of health information in low and middle income countries. It collaborates with the World Health Organization and is supported by more than 260 health and development organisations worldwide.

World Spine Day

"Your Back at Work" is the theme for World Spine Day 2015. Held on 16th October, this year the focus is on the importance of education related to good spinal health and prevention of injuries in the workplace. 

To mark the day the campaign is asking people to take a photo demonstrating a healthy spine habit in the workplace and share via social media using #worldspineday, #spineselfie, #yourbackatwork.

ER-WCPT Congress: call for abstracts
Share your innovative ideas and research findings with peers across Europe. This is your opportunity to have your contribution to physical therapy recognised and discussed with an international audience. The 4th European Congress of the European Region of the World Confederation of Physical Therapy (ER-WCPT) now wishes to invite proposals for abstract submissions for:
 
  • platform presentations
  • poster presentations
  • poster discussion sessions

The ER-WCPT Congress is organised by ER-WCPT and hosted by CSP in collaboration with ENPHE.
E-learning: spinal cord injury

An initiative of the International Spinal Cord Society (ISCoS), elearnSCI.org offers free online learning modules about physical therapy management of spinal cord injuries. The topics include assessment, setting goals, formulating treatment plans and administering interventions.

The site is available in available in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Russian. It will soon also be available in Chinese and French.

World Congress on Low Back Pain

The 9th Interdisciplinary World Congress on Low Back and Pelvic Girdle Pain will be held in Singapore on 31st October - 3rd November 2016.

To submit an abstract go to: www.worldcongresslbp.com/abstracts/. Deadline for submissions is 20th December 2015.

Regulation conference 2016

The fourth World Health Professions Regulation Conference is to take place 21st and 22nd May 2016, immediately before the World Health Organization's World Health Assembly in Geneva. Key speakers will explore the lessons learned from competence-based approaches to regulation, compare regulatory models and examine ways of promoting best practice in regulatory governance and performance.
