The 8th September 2016 saw a massive response to World Physical Therapy Day. Around the world physical therapists promoted this year's "Add life to years" message. Congratulations to all who held events promoting the profession and the vital role it plays in global health. Huge success was also seen on Twitter with the hashtags #WorldPTDay and #addlifetoyears achieving over 15.5 million impressions and more than 6,000 tweets.

Reports from WCPT member organisations about activities held to celebrate the day will be added to the WCPT website shortly. Although we cannot promise to be able to feature all reports, please let us know about your celebrations by emailing a brief report and photos to info@wcpt.org.

WHO recognises importance of MSK health
A new World Health Organization (WHO) action plan has highlighted the importance of promoting musculoskeletal health in preventing noncommunicable diseases across Europe.

The plan, approved on 15th September, acknowledges that musculoskeletal conditions are the greatest cause of disability in the European region, leading to workplace absences and a loss of independence in older age.
